Keeping a clean and
safe campsite is an important part of being a Scout. The
boys learn to take responsibility for the upkeep of their
campsite. Every morning at Camp Scouthaven, the Camp
Commissioner visits and inspects each campsite, awarding
points in several categories, including: Tents,
Latrine, Fire Ring, Bulletin Board, and Awning. At
lunch, the winning campsite is announced and given an
honor pole to decorate.
With a score of 96,
out of a possible 100 points, Pack 444 was recognized as
the Clean Campsite of the Day on day 1. Although the Pack
did not win the daily award again, on each subsequent day
the Pack's score improved. As a result, during the closing
bonfire on day 4, Pack 444 received the honor of being
named Cleanest Campsite of the Week and was awarded a
special plaque. Congratulations to the boys and their
parents. The Pack is very proud of the way the boys worked
together. Thank for all of your hard work! |
